After a record-setting pole vault performance in Birmingham, Ole Miss junior Sam Kendricks has received Southeastern Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Led by Sam Kendricks' school, meet and facility record pole vault, Ole Miss finished up its first indoor meet of 2014 Saturday at the UAB Blazer Invitational.

Led by newcomer Phillip Young's victory in the men's triple jump, Ole Miss posted some strong results on the first day of the UAB Blazer Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday.

Ole Miss will get the 2014 calendar year of indoor track & field started with a trip to the highly competitive UAB Blazer Invitational, which takes place this Friday and Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Ole Miss junior pole vaulter Sam Kendricks has been named to the preseason men's watch list for The Bowerman, which is awarded annually to the best collegiate track & field athlete in the nation.
