Sintayehu Vissa, a junior at Ole Miss representing Italy, won the women's mile title in 4:33.96 at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships at the Gilliam Indoor facility at Texas A&M. Vissa, the first Ole Miss female athlete to capture the mile crown, also led the Rebels to their first championship in the distance medley relay in 10:56.39, producing a 4:30.22 anchor split for the final 1,600 meters.
