Jalani Davis, a junior at Ole Miss, secured sixth place in the women's hammer throw final with a personal-best 228-1 (69.53m) in the second round at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Davis was one of two competitors, along with Shelby Moran of Arizona State, to earn All-America first-team honors after advancing to the final out of the first flight. Davis also achieved the top sixth-place performance in Division 1 championship history.
