Jalani Davis, a senior at Ole Miss, became the first female athlete since Florida's Candice Scott in 2005 to sweep both women's shot put and weight throw titles in the same year at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships at Randal Tyson Track Center in Arkansas. Davis achieved a personal-best 61-0.75 (18.61m) in the fifth round of the shot put to secure her second crown in three years in the event. Ole Miss became the first program since South Carolina in 1996 to sweep the women's and men's shot put and weight throw championships in the same year.
